- Why do you have a direct booking website in addition to your Airbnb and VRBO listings?
To save you money and enable more guest to book with us at Hale i Lani. Third-party booking platforms charge fees that can add more than 15% to the cost of your reservation and provide very little value. By booking direct, you avoid these fees and benefit directly from the savings. - How are your rates so much lower than comparable properties at the resort?
Because we self-manage Hale i Lani, we don’t pass through expensive property management fees (often 25%+) that many other property owners have to factor into their rates.
- Are these pictures of the actual property I'll be renting?
Yes! Believe it or not, we get this question a lot. Every photo you see is of Hale i Lani itself—capturing the views and beauty exactly as you’ll experience them. No AI here... - Is booking through your website safe and secure?
Yes! Our website is powered by OwnerRez, a professional property management system, and credit card transactions are processed through Stripe, one of the world’s most secure payment platforms. With OwnerRez and Stripe, your booking and payment are encrypted, safe, and every bit as secure as major travel sites. - Do you have any beach or recreational gear at the property?
We do! The closets are stocked with supplies to make your visit comfortable and fun including: beach chairs, coolers, beach umbrellas, and more…. - Do you provide a pack & play or crib at the property?
For safety and liability reasons, we do not keep a pack & play or crib at the property. HOWEVER, if you are traveling with little ones please contact us. We’re happy to help make arrangements with a trusted local baby & child equipment provider to help make your stay comfortable for the whole family. - Do you offer travel insurance for stays booked through your website?
Yes! We offer the option of adding leading travel insurance through RentalGuardian (coverage overview here), giving you peace of mind if your travel plans change unexpectedly. - It looks like there's a maximum stay length. Can we stay longer?
We would love to be able to host you! Please reach out to us to inquire about booking a longer stay. - I've read some old reviews online. When did you acquire the property?
We purchased Hale i Lani in April 2025 and have since refreshed and upgraded the property to try and create the best guest experience possible. Some older online reviews pre-date these improvements. - How do you choose which Kaua'i non-profit organizations to donate to?
Our goal is simply to give something back to the island and her people; there are so many deserving organizations, but currently we give to Surfrider Foundation Kauaʻi and Kauaʻi Independent Food Bank because the mission of these organizations really resonate with us.
